Air Tightness Test
Under the Building Regulations, your home must undergo an air leakage test (also known as a blower door or air permeability test) upon practical completion.
The test results are then provided to your architect or engineer for Compliance purposes and used in the final BER calculation. The results of the test are accounted for in the overall BER.
nZEB
nZEB (nearly Zero Energy Building) is a description of overarching energy-efficient regulations, and it is the next part of a movement towards a point where buildings, as they are constructed, will have a substantial and verifiable part of their energy being derived within or on their own footprint.
In essence it defines a building with a very high energy performance.
BER Certificate
When you request a BER cert from 2eva, a member of our extremely skilled team of assessors will arrange to inspect your property and perform a survey.
This survey is a detailed energy assessment of the property. The details are then reviewed, and the relevant calculations are completed. We will then be able to issue the BER certificates for that building.
A BER certificate will quantify the energy use for space heating, water heating, ventilation, and lighting, calculated based on standard occupancy.
